In this article, you will learn how to set a manual IP address on iPad.
Contact your service provider for a static IP. They need to assist in excluding the IP that you intend to use on the router. In other words, "The IP needs to be outside of the DHCP scope."
To set the manual IP address, do the following:
- Go to Settings on the iPad.
- Select Wi-Fi or LAN (depending on what you use), and then tap on your network.
- In IPV4-address section, tap Configure IP.
- Choose 'Manual' and enter the different values under Manual IP section.
IP Address: Enter the IP address that you want to use as manual/static IP address.
Subnet Mask: Usually this is 255.255.255.0, this is also something that your service provider can confirm.
Router: This is the DNS address to the router, it is usually the same as the IP but it ends with 1.
For example, if the IP is 192.168.1.240, then the router/DNS will usually be 192.168.1.1.
Please contact your network administrator/service provider if you need any help in retrieving the values for IP address, subnet mask and router.
