This article will help you understand how Deliveries work in Front Systems Portal.
What is a Delivery
A delivery is a list detailing items with prices, quantity, etc. that have been purchased for your store.
Often, Portal is integrated/connected to the ERP system used by your company. When orders have been registered in the ERP system, the orders will be synced with Front Systems and then be available as deliveries.
You can manually create a delivery in Portal by using either Direct or Planned delivery.
Planned delivery
Scenario: Pre-register goods to be delivered
Use Planned delivery in instances where you have an order confirmation for goods purchased from a supplier, but items haven't been delivered to the store yet.
- When planned deliveries are created in Portal, the goods are registered with name, group, price, expected quantity, etc.
- After the goods are physically delivered to the store, you can receive the delivery.
- Once the relevant delivery is received, products are added to your stock and available for in-store display.
Direct delivery
Scenario: Register goods directly in stock
This is used in instances where you want to register goods at the same time as you have physically received them.
